Children will be taught the basics of handbuilding including pinchpots, coiled pots, slab pots and pinched figurines. Children will have the opportunity to use the wheel, although the focus will be on handbuilding. The program is based on fun projects that will give children finished pieces to take home. The aim is for children to learn basic constructions and surface treatments while gaining a better understanding and appreciation of pottery. It is about creativity and having fun! A $15 material fee for clay is payable to the instructor on the first day of class.
